The term Subud is derived from three Javanese words; Susila, Budhi, and Dharma and means something along the lines of 'good man who surrenders to God'
Why Subud might be annoying
During their meditation, practitioners may find themselves dancing, crying, or just jumping around, which sounds a lot like American protestant Pentecostalism.
When a devotee asks for guidance on a specific matter, it is called testing. Everybody else calls it praying.
They accept practitioners of any religion or even atheists, which leads to the question, since they are all doing the same thing why doesn't God take advantage of the situation and tell everyone which religion is correct and why would he want to talk to an atheist and why would an atheist want to talk to him?
The founder of Subud considers it proof of God's existence. Huh?
Why Subud might not be annoying
Subud does not ask for your money, to sleep with their clergy (they don't have any), stone adulteresses, burn witches, watch blowhards with bad haircuts on cable TV, not eat pork, fight wars against other religions, and fly airplanes into buildings.
They just want you to do what God wants for you.
