Directed 'Loving Couples' (1964), 'Night Games' (1966), 'The Girls' (1968), 'Scrubbers' (1982) and 'Amorosa' (1986)
Wrote the children's book 'Rain's Hat' (1979) and the autobiography 'All Those Tomorrows' (1985)

Why she might be annoying:

She claimed she was barely literate when she left school.
She was married and divorced twice.
Several films she directed were controversial for their frank sexuality, with 'Loving Couples' being banned at the Cannes Film Festival and 'Night Games' being banned in Venice.
She said, 'Perhaps I am a mad-hatter Swede who got lost in the world.... I feel very far from the norm of just about everything.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She had green eyes and elfin features.
Danny Kaye, her costar in 'Knock on Wood,' called her 'refreshingly different from my usual leading ladies.'
She said of her move behind the camera, 'I gave up acting because I was not a passive person.... I wanted, for many reasons, to do my own ideas, positive ideas.'
He directorial debut, the documentary short film 'The War Game,' won first prize at the Venice Film Festival (1963).
