The Resume

    (January 17, 1943- )
    Born in Los Angeles, California
Birth name is Ezekiel Christopher Montanez
Recorded 'Let's Dance,' 'Some Kinda Fun,' 'Call Me,' 'The More I See You,' 'There Will Never Be Another You,' 'Time After Time,' 'Because of You,' 'The Face I Love' and 'Love Is Here To Stay'

Why he might be annoying:

He spent his early high school years immersed in the 'low rider culture.'
One of the main reasons he wanted a rock & roll career was because Ritchie Valens made it big, so he figured he could as well.
He toured England with Tommy Roe in 1963 where The Beatles opened for them, and asked, 'Who are these guys The Beatles? I try to keep up with the British scene, but I don't know their work.'
When he hit the Top 40 chart in 1965 with 'Call Me,' people hearing his high voice and not knowing of his previous work thought they were listening to a woman sing.
The 2000s saw him emerge as an inspirational speaking-performer, and has oversaturated the Branson, Missouri circuit.

Why he might not be annoying:

When he was young, his older brothers taught him how to play the guitar.
He attented Hawthorne High School along with The Beach Boys.
Both his 1962 hits, 'Let's Dance' and 'Some Kinda Fun,' sold over a million copies and were awarded gold records.
In the early 1960s he toured with Sam Cooke, The Platters and Smokey Robinson & The Miracles.
When he signed with A&M Records in 1965, founder Herb Alpert suggested he try singing in a softer voice, and though he was reluctant at first, his song 'Call Me' was a smash hit, reaching #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart.
In the early 1970s, he scored two international Spanish language hits, 'Loco Por Ti' and 'Ay No Digas.'
