    He had a failure to appear warrant for driving-related charges in October 2012.
    This led him being arrested in August 2013 after he failed a background check in an attempt to purchase a gun in Colorado Springs.
    Later that year, he was cited for speeding and driving with a suspended license in Arapahoe County.
    He was late in appearing in traffic court for that aforementioned offense.
    He was fined for a hit against quarterback Cam Newton in a 2012 game against the Panthers.

    In 2009, he was the college football sacks leader with 17 sacks.
    He was named AP Defensive Rookie of the Year (2011).
    He has a charity called Von's Vision, a foundation devoted to providing eye care and glasses to underprivileged youth.
    Former Broncos quarterback John Elway called him, 'A type of guy that comes around every 10 years.'
    He appeared via satellite on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' shortly after his Super Bowl win.
