Why he might be annoying:

He was accused of a variety of crimes, including two felony counts of rape as an accomplice.
His congregation was investigated for incest, child abuse, domestic violence and polygamy.
Former FLDS members estimate that he had upwards of 70 wives.
He controlled nearly every aspect of the FLDS members' lives, including their access to the outside world.
He punished male FLDS members by reassigning their wives and children to other males.
After his father died, he married several of his father's widows.
Acting as his own defense attorney, he was convicted on child sexual assault charges (August 4, 2011).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was arrested by the Nevada Highway Patrol on a routine traffic stop (August 28, 2006).
His nearly 10,000 followers believed he was a prophet of God.
He stayed true to what he believed were the original teachings of LDS founder, Joseph Smith.
