Why he might be annoying:

He was arrested with cocaine, marijuana and hashish during a customs inspection in Toronto (August 25, 1980).
Although he was suspended by baseball Commissioner Bowie Kuhn it overturned by an arbitrator (September 22, 1980).
A Canadian court convicted him of cocaine possession but the verdict was vacated by the judge (December 18, 1980).
He never played a post-season game.

His mother went blind and never saw him pitch.
He won his first game hitting a home run for the Chicago Cub (April 1966).
He won the Cy Young award (1971).
He is the only pitcher to strike out over 3,000 with less than 1,000 walks.
He was the first Canadian elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame (July 21, 1991).
His wife died in a car crash four days later and his fiancee killed herself a year and a half later (December 15, 1992).
He was ranked in the top 100 baseball players of the 20th Century by the Society for American Baseball Research (June, 1999).
He runs the Fergie Jenkins Foundation Inc., which donates money to many charities.
