Premise: Cavemen living in today's world

Why Cavemen (TV Series) might be annoying:

The premise was done in the 1960's by a series called 'It's About Time.'
It was originally set in Atlanta, changed to Virginia Beach and back to Atlanta, However when the show premiered the setting was changed once again, this time to San Diego.
It premiered the day after the San Diego Padres were eliminated from the 2007 playoffs by the Colorado Rockies.
Geicko is headquartered in San Diego.
The show is based on Geico Cavemen which gives fear of Geico Gecko TV series.
It was almost universally panned by critics with one glowing exception, being Adam Buckman of the New York Post. The day after show premiered he wrote an apology and retraction.
New York Post's Adam Buckman, prior to his retraction wrote 'For reasons I cannot understand, just about every TV critic in the country - all of whom received the pilot episode from ABC earlier this summer - has turned thumbs-down on this show.'
TV Guide wrote 'Cavemen seems doomed to early extinction.'
The pilot was so poorly received by critics, that the first episode was completely rewritten. It did not help.
The cavemen are dead ringers for Will Ferrell.
The cavemen hair makeup is primarily full facial hear with the Hitler moustache shaved out.
NY radio station WPLJ said the only way this can be saved is by the Sanjaya effect, meaning that fans will support it because it is that bad.
They originally could not get any of the cavemen cast in the Geico Cavemen commercial.
The show's humor is very dry and falls hard and flat.

Why Cavemen (TV Series) might not be annoying:

The series attempts to deal with prejudices and stereotypes.
It does not have a laugh track.
ABC invested a lot of money and is invested in helping the series succeed.
Aiming for the male audience, the line the series with hot women, including an upskirt shot in the first episode.
This may be the first TV series inspired by a commercial.
New York Post's Adam Buckman, prior to his retraction wrote of the critics who panned the series as 'incurable snobs who possess no sense of humor' (September 16, 2007). He also pleaded 'Please join me in saying 'yes' to Cavemen.'
