Why he might be annoying:

His name could be used as an insult.
He played for eight teams in his career.
He is famous for doctoring the balls (spitballs and putting Vaseline on the balls).
He was not caught doctoring the ball until May 6, 1982 (his 21st season).
He approached the makes of Vaseline about endorsement.
A spokesperson for Vaseline told him 'We soothe babies' backsides, not baseballs.'
He was traded from the Indians to the Rangers because he was against Frank Robinson being his manager.
Despite his reputation as one who doctored baseballs, he said that Pete Rose's 'lack of respect for the game should ban him from the Hall of Fame and from the record books for life.'

He was the first pitcher to win a Cy Young award in both leagues.
In 1963, he said 'They'll put a man on the moon before I hit a home run.'
Shortly after Apollo 11 landed on the moon, he hit his first home run (July 20, 1969).
He was elected to the Major League Baseball All-Century Team in 1999.
He pitched a no-hitter (September 17, 1968).
He won a Cy Young at the age of 40.
He played on the same team as his older brother Jim (1974-1975).
