He turned down the first invitation to join Cheap Trick because he was committed to a summer residency at a club in the Wisconsin Dells. (He accepted a second offer a year later.)
As a solo artist, he is a one-hit wonder.
His second solo album was withdrawn from online music outlets after having been available for only a few hours.
He named both a son (Robin, Jr.) and a daughter (Robin-Sailor) after himself.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is one of many rocker inspired to become a musician by seeing the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show.
In Cheap Trick’s heyday, he was frequently described as having ‘pin-up good looks.’
He married former Playmate Pamela Stein (1993).
AllMusic called him ‘perhaps the only singer in rock history whose influence can be detected in such polar opposite musical styles as 80s glam metal (Motley Crue’s Vince Neil, Enuff Z’Nuff’s Donnie Vie) and 90s alternative (Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain, Stone Temple Pilot’s Scot Weiland).’
