    Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
    First baseman for the New York Giants (1895-96), Pittsburgh Pirates (1896-98), Louisville Colonels (1898), *Washington Senators (1898-99), Philadelphia Athletics (1901-11, 1913-17) and the Cleveland Naps (1912)
    *Not the Senators team that became the Minnesota Twins or the Senators team that became the Texas Rangers, but a team that was folded in the 19th century
    Four-time AL Home Run Champion (1904-1907)
    Manager for the Cleveland Naps (1912)

Why he might be annoying:

    He has a very generic name.
    He led the AL twice for errors committed as a first baseman (1906-07).
    He was a strict disciplinarian as a manager.
    His managing stint with the Naps was a disappointment and he left the team with 28 games remaining in the 1912 season.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was the first player in the AL to hit for the cycle (July 10, 1901).
    He was one of several players who led the AL for home runs in 4 straight years.
    He was chosen as the Athletics' first team captain.
    He was a member of his hometown Athletics that won the World Series three times (1910-11, 1913).
    In his time as a scout, he discovered future Baseball Hall of Fame outfielder Al Simmons.
