Voice Actor

The Resume

    (May 8, 1899-November 18, 1959)
    Born in Brooklyn, New York
Provided the voice of Elmer Fudd in Warner Brothers cartoons
Portrayed Dr. Gamble on the radio show 'Fibber McGee and Molly' (1943-53)

Why he might be annoying:

His onscreen appearances were mostly uncredited cameos and supporting roles in B-movies.
Animator Bob Clampett briefly redesigned Fudd as a fat man based on Bryan's real-life appearance.
Audiences did not accept a fat Elmer, so the character slimmed back down after five cartoons.
He was overshadowed by fellow Warner Brothers voice actor Mel Blanc.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was an air raid warden in Burbank during World War II.
He was hired for 'Fibber McGee and Molly' when supporting cast members Gale Gordon and Bill Thompson were drafted, but became so popular that he stayed on after the other two actors returned.
His name did not appear in the Looney Tunes credits, reportedly because Mel Blanc's contract with Warner Brothers stipulated that he would be the only voice actor to receive an on-screen credit.
Blanc, who did Elmer's voice for 70s and 80s specials, said Fudd was one character he never could make his own.
