    Inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame (1961)
    Calder trophy winner (1937)

    He named his son Syl Apps. Jr.

    He was the Minister of Correctional Services.
    He was offered a contract with The Leafs after Conn Smythe watched him play college football.
    He sought political office during his active playing career.
