The Resume

    (July 9, 1944-February 1, 2021)
    Born in Boston, Massachusetts
    Attorney and private investigator
Founded Palladino & Sutherland with his wife, Sandra Sutherland (1977)
Clients included Huey P. Newton, John DeLorean, Robin Williams, Courtney Love, Snoop Dogg, and R. Kelly

Why he might be annoying:

He twice failed the bar exam.
He admitted, ‘I am a driven, arrogant person.’
He was paid $100,000 by the presidential campaign of Bill Clinton to discredit women claiming to have had affairs with him. (Or, as chief of staff Betsy Wright called it, ‘controlling bimbo eruptions.’)
He was hired by Harvey Weinstein to find information to undermine the credibility of the women accusing him of sexual harassment, and created a 100-page dossier on Rose McGowan.
He was frequently accused of intimidating potential witnesses against his clients.

Why he might not be annoying:

He met his wife when they were both part of an undercover investigation of prisoner abuse at the Nassau County jail on Long Island.
He defended whistleblower Jeffrey Wigand from a smear campaign by the tobacco companies.
Although he admitted, ‘I go right to the boundaries of the envelope,’ he insisted that none of his actions were illegal or unethical.
He died from head injuries that he suffered when a man in a car tried to steal his camera, causing him to fall to the ground and be dragged behind the vehicle.
Pictures that he took led to the arrests of two suspects, prompting the San Francisco District Attorney to note that he solved his own murder case.
