The Resume

    (May 6, 1994- )
    Born in Tucuman, Argentina
    Capuchin monkey
Trained by Tom Gunderson of Birds & Animals Unlimited
Portrayed Dexter in the 'Night at the Museum' films, Annie's Boobs in Community, and Dr. Rizzo in 'Animal Practice'
Also appeared in the films 'George of the Jungle' (1997), 'Dr. Doolittle' (1998), 'American Pie' (1999), 'Garfield: The Movie' (2004), 'Failure to Launch' (2006), 'The Hangover Part II' (2011), 'We Bought a Zoo' (2011), 'Zookeeper' (2011), and 'Legends of the Hidden Temple' (2016)

Why she might be annoying:

She lost her left lower canine tooth trying to crack open a walnut.
She shares a bed with her trainer, his wife, another capuchin, and a chihuahua.
She seems badly typecast, as she always portrays a monkey.
In an 'unscripted moment' in 'Night at the Museum,' she went to the bathroom on Robin Williams.
Todd Phillips, the director of 'The Hangover: Part II,' drew the ire of PeTA after joking that Crystal had become addicted to cigarettes after learning to smoke for the film.
In what 'New York' magazine called a 'cringe-worthy juxtaposition,' NBC ran a promo for 'Animal Practice' featuring Crystal swinging on gymnastics rings right after Gabby Douglas' gold-medal winning performance in the women's all-around and Bob Costas saying, 'There are some African American girls out there who tonight are saying to themselves: 'Hey, I'd like to try that too.'' (2012)

Why she might not be annoying:

Gunderson named her after Crystal Gayle.
Gunderson noted, 'She takes to people really well. Things don't seem to bother her that bother most monkeys.'
USA Today called her 'Hollywood's hottest monkey.'
In 'The Hangover: Part II,' the 'cigarettes' she held were actually ceramic props, with smoke added digitally during post-production.
Ken Jeong, who appeared with her in 'The Hangover: Part II,' 'Zookeeper,' and 'Community,' said she was 'quite possibly the best actor I've worked with.'
