Why he might be annoying:

    He's had to rework much of his earlier writings on bioethics due to changes in technology making his previous positions obsolete.
    In his writings he gives short shrift to positions other than traditional Catholic ones.
    He considers organ donation morally questionable.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He's been teaching at the Catholic University of America since 1971.
    He's written dozens of books and over 200 journal articles.
    His writings on bioethics have become the backbone of Catholic theology, especially in America.
    'Catholic Bioethics and the Gift of Human Life' has become the standard textbook on the subject in Catholic seminaries in the United States.
    His writings, even those which deal in highly technical matters in professional journals, are written in a manner easily understood even by untrained laypersons.
    He rejects the 'animal rights' movement as being without foundation in the Christian tradition.
