Premise: Five teenagers selected by Zordon to fight the evil Rita Repulsa and her group of villains

Why Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers might be annoying:

Go! Go! Power Rangers!
Many of the Power Rangers appeared to be based on race (Asian playing the Yellow Ranger, black guy as the Black Ranger, white guy as the White Ranger).
It led to many lamer spin-offs.
Since their toys were the ‘must-have item' for Christmas in the mid-90's, fights would break out between desperate parents trying to get Power Ranger toys at stores.
Many of the cast members left during the height of the shows popularity.
The evil Rita was imprisoned in a space dumpster for 10,000 years, and when she got out, the Power Rangers formed to stop her.
They had numerous commercial tie-ins with McDonald's.
It was pulled off of some stations in Canada because it promoted violence in a children's show.
The only Jew on the show was the evil Lord Zedd.
The Rangers were often pitted against lame opponents such as pig creatures or magic spinning wheels.
It was banned in Norway, after a kid froze to death in a fjord.

Why Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers might not be annoying:

Many of the cast members did their own stunts.
Thuy Trang died in a tragic car accident.
Some characters' voices were spoofs on celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ethel Merman.
It was an Americanized version of a popular Japanese show.
They were the single most popular show with children throughout the mid-90's.
Luckily for the parents of impressionable young children, the show's action looked fake enough to be regarded as non-threatening.
