Why he might be annoying:

He is the first President of the United States who was not elected to the office.
He succeeded William Henry Harrison who died in office.
His entire cabinet, except for Secretary of State resigned to protest his veto (concerning public revenues - September 9, 1841).
He was the first President to have a veto overridden (concerning revenue cutters - March 3, 1845).
At his death, the United States virtually ignored him, as he was a member of the Confederacy during the Civil War (1862).
