    He goes by the nickname 'Cutch.'
    He openly discusses his religious beliefs in interviews.
    He publicly proposed to his girlfriend on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' (2013).
    He sports enormously long dreadlocks which cover his nameplate on his jersey.
    Despite posting impressive numbers in his second major league season, he was snubbed off the National League All-Star roster.

    He was considered an integral part of the Pirates resurgence during the early 2010's.
    He was considered one of the top young talents by baseball fans and pundits alike.
    He was the first Pirate since Barry Bonds to earn NL MVP honors.
