Why he might be annoying:

Like a yo-yo, he went from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia to Montreal and back to Philly then Pittsburgh.
He was traded in one of the most lopsided deals in the NHL. He was traded to Montreal for John LeClair and Eric Desjardins who became all-stars while his production decreased.
He was dealt back to Philly for enigmatic forward Dainius Zubrus.
He plays golf.
He was voted the All-Star MVP over Owen Nolan of the hometown Sharks which drew the ire of many Sharks fans.

Why he might not be annoying:

He scored 154 points in 62 games with Kamloops of the Western Hockey League (1988-89).
He was the NHL's active ironman at 570 games until illness prevented him from continuing the streak (1999).
He signed for less money to play in Pittsburgh for his second stint with the Penguins.
He has a street named after him in his hometown of Kamloops.
