Why he might be annoying:

He tried unsuccessfully to become a miner and rancher in Northern Rhodesia before taking up acting.
He got his big break by replacing his brother (who was tired of B-movies) as the Falcon.
He was married and divorced twice.
He was discovered living in a $2 a day flophouse (1965).
His heavy drinking estranged him from his brother and contributed to his death from cirrhosis of the liver.
He forced a comedian named Thomas Conway to changed his first name to Tim.

Why he might not be annoying:

His parents lost their fortune fleeing the Russian Revolution.
When they both went to Hollywood, he and George flipped a coin to decide who would keep the family name.
He had a rich, smooth voice.
He invented a pipe cleaner and a device for mechanical drawing.
Before drinking took its toll, he was easy to get along with and was dubbed 'the nice George Sanders.'
He suffered from severe cataracts during his later years.
