Murderer (Alleged)

The Resume

    (April 12, 1943-January 10, 2022)
    Born in New York
Billionaire heir to the Durst Organization real estate empire
Subject of the 2015 HBO Docu-series 'Jinxed: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst'
Person of interest in the disappearance of his wife Kathleen McCormack and the murder of his friend Susan Berman
Acquitted in the murder of neighbor Morris Black, with the jury finding he acted in self defense

Why he might be annoying:

He's the blacksheep of his well-to-do family.
His brother took out a restraining order against him, fearing for his safety.
In 'Jinxed', he admitted he lied to the police when questioned about the disappearance of his wife, Kathleen McCormack.
He blamed then district attorney Jeanine Pirro of going after him to advance her own political career.
He fled to Galveston, disguised as a deaf, mute woman when Pirro re-opened the investigation into his wife's disappearance.
After killing Morris Black, he dismembered the body (claiming he had no other choice because he didn't want to draw attention to himself by calling the police).
He fled Galveston, but was apprehended in Pennsylvania after stealing a sandwich and some band aids.
He once again became headline news after making what some called a 'hot mic' confession to murder after filming an interview for 'Jinxed'.
After his 2015 arrest for the murder of Susan Berman, he became a person of interest in several other cold cases from around the country.

Why he might not be annoying:

His mother committed suicide when he was a child.
    He attended Lehigh University.
His lawyer explained Durst's lack of emotion as being a result of Asperger's syndrome.
He survived hydrocephalus and esophageal cancer.
After his acquittal for Black's murder, one juror said Durst might just be the unluckiest man in the world.
He put his inheritance to good use, literally acquiring the best defense money can buy.
