Why he might be annoying:

    He was unable to crack the Stars roster full-time in his five seasons with the team.
    He initially committed to play at the University of Michigan, only to relent and go to the Ontario Hockey League instead.
    He claimed he was mentally burnt out and unmotivated to play hockey during his final years with the Stars.
    Despite being a first round pick, he only played in one game for the Stars, during his five years with the team.
    He blew a 3-1 series lead against the Montreal Canadiens, which led to the Leafs elimination and the Habs improbable run to the Stanley Cup Finals (2021).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He guided the United States hockey team to a Gold Medal victory, ending Canada's run of five consecutive World Junior Gold medals (2010).
    His performance at the 2010 World Juniors prompted him to be selected amongst the top picks.
    He was a member of the Texas Stars to a Calder Cup championship (2014).
    He was able to establish consistency at the NHL level in Los Angeles, but finally hit his stride when he was acquired by Toronto.
    He set a new Maple Leafs goaltending franchise record for consecutive victories upon joining the team (10 in 2020).
