Why he might be annoying:

    He never played professionally.
    He was a nomad in the college coaching ranks.
    He left his head coaching position at Temple to take the same one at Baylor weeks before Temple was supposed to play in the Military Bowl (2016).
    He was unable to manage no more then five wins in both his full seasons at the helm with the Panthers.
    He was fired by the Panthers after a 1-4 start, going 11-27 in 2¼ seasons as the team's head coach (October 10, 2022).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a linebacker at Penn State, prior to establishing his coaching career.
    He gradually learned both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball in order to prepare to become a head coach.
    He landed his foot in the door in the NFL coaching ranks when he landed a job on Tom Coughlin's coaching staff.
    He guided the football programs at both Temple and Baylor to turnarounds.
    He guided Baylor to a victory in the Texas Bowl in his second year at the helm (2018).
