The Resume

Why Amazing America with Sarah Palin might be annoying:

It was a less riveting cross between Dirty Jobs and Running Wild with Bear Grylls.
Its theme song 'Amazing America' really wasn't so much 'amazing' as it was 'average.'
The original promo showed its host as a red-white-and-blue booted hitchhiker on a desert road.
The Guardian's Scott Lemieux called it 'so bland it's impossible even to hate watch.'
It rarely got political, but episodes tended to have such a pro-gun tilt they came off as extended NRA ads.
Its titular host very often did little other than introduce the segments while the co-hosts did the actual traveling to interact with the guests.

Why Amazing America with Sarah Palin might not be annoying:

    It was wholesome non-partisan entertainment.
It gave the First Lady of the Outdoors the opportunity to strut around in skin-tight camo-gear.
It photographed rural parts of the US beautifully.
It was credited with propelling the fledgling Sportsman Channel to triple-digit year-over-year growth in key household demographics.
Bristol Palin met her husband, guest Dakota Meyer, during filming for the first season.
Some of the jobs highlighted on the show - like Remote Area Medical - were both interesting and served a unique, admirable purpose.
It was interpreted as proof that Palin was indeed unserious about pursuing a Presidential nomination (cuz we all know a a reality star can't be President!)
