The Resume

    (March 5, 1947- )
    Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi
    Birth name was Samuel Hodges
Appeared in the films 'A Hole in the Head' (1959), 'The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn' (1960), 'Advise and Consent' (1962), 'C'mon Let's Live a Little' (1967), 'The Happiest Millionaire' (1967), and 'Live a Little, Love a Little' (1968)
Appeared on Broadway in 'The Music Man' (1957-61)
Recorded the singles 'I'm Gonna Knock on Your Door' (1961) and '(Girls, Girls, Girls) Made to Love' (1962)

Why he might be annoying:

He and John Glenn teamed to win the then-top prize of $25,000 on Name That Tune -- after Hodges sat in on meetings where the production staff sang the songs that were used in the Golden Medley Marathon (1957).
He sang 'High Hopes' with Frank Sinatra in the movie 'A Hole in the Head,' but was replaced on the single with a children's chorus, apparently because his record label and Sinatra's label were unable to work out a deal.
He 'won' the Harvard Lampoon's Bratwurst Award for 'most obnoxious child actor' for 'A Hole in the Head.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was cast in 'The Music Man' after composer Meredith Willson's wife saw him on 'Name That Tune.'
After he left acting, he earned a degree in psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and became a mental health counselor.
He rode out Hurricane Katrina and went 19 days without electricity or running water until the utilities were restored (2005).
