    He played on six different NBA teams, but if you were to count his total teams, he played on 15 altogether.
    He was a college star who flamed out in the professional ranks.
    His tenure with the Trail Blazers was remembered for being one of three players with the surname Robinson on the team at the same time.
    He blew his millions and was forced into bankruptcy as a result (1998).
    He conned his adopted mother into taking out a second mortgage on her home, which she wound up losing when it was revealed he did not have the money altogether.
    He was charged with 11 counts of bank bribery, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution and was sentenced to 6½ years in prison (2011).

    He was abandoned by his mom at the age of 10.
    He was taken in by a local couple who fostered and later adopted him as one of their own.
    He was a member of the Michigan men's basketball team that won the national championship (1989).
    He was initially considered a hero in his hometown of Cambridge, prior to his reputation being tarnished as a result of the financial scandals.
    He was considered a good person who got tied up with the wrong crowd, which led to his eventual downfall.
