The Resume

    (September 28, 1949- )
Born in West Palm Beach, Florida
Birth name is Jimmie Horace Horne, Jr.
    Recorded 'Dance Across the Floor'

Why he might be annoying:

He is a one hit wonder.
His voice on 'Dance Across the Floor' sounded haunting like that of Harry Wayne Casey (of Sunshine Band fame) who happened to both write and produce the song.
He released a disco flavored tune entitled 'Is It In' in 1980, just as the disco scene was waning, causing the song to flop.
'Dance Across the Floor' was sampled by the gangsta rap group Da Lench Mob for their controversial 1993 song 'Freedom Got an AK.'

Why he might not be annoying:

Both of his parents were school teachers.
Before his big break, he had some luck recording novelty songs and dance oriented tunes.
'Dance Across the Floor' reached #8 on Billboard's R&B chart in 1978.
He managed to get another song in the R&B Top 20 - 1979's 'You Get Me Hot.'
A 1977 song of his, 'Get Happy,' was used as background music for the first season of HBO's 'The Chris Rock Show. (1997-98)
Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green's 2011 hit song 'Nasty' heavily sampled 'Dance Across the Floor.'
