Why he might be annoying:

    He sported a thick bushy beard.
    He sometimes used Vasilis as the spelling of his first name.
    His last name was a tricky one to both spell and pronounce.
    His theories were considered too intense to understand by the common man.
    He was rather secretive and guarded in regards to his personal life.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He excelled in both physics and mathematics in high school.
    He frequently collabarated with Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, who became his lifelong mentor in the field of physics.
    Chandrasekhar went as far as calling their partnership the most binding in all his sixty years in the field of science.
    He served as a visiting assistant professor in the physics department at Montana State University, after he earned his Ph.D at the University of Chicago.
    He served as the chairman of the physics department at the University of Crete at the time of his murder.
    He, along with his colleague, Stephanos Pnevmatikos, were giving a seminar at the university at the time they were shot dead.
