Why she might be annoying:

    She was twice charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (in 1999 and 2000).
    She inherited the governor's seat after Terry Branstad stepped down to be Ambassador to China.
    Steve King co-chaired her reelection campaign.
    She signed a bill into law that the Des Moines Register called 'the most restrictive abortion ban in the nation.'
    The law was struck down by an Iowa state judge, who said it was unconstitutional (2019).

Why she might not be annoying:

    She made history as the first woman elected Governor of Iowa.
    She recovered and managed to stay sober after her second DUI.
    She attended two local community colleges.
    She finally earned a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree from Iowa State University while serving as the Lt. Governor, at the age of 56 (2016).
    She visited all of Iowa’s 99 counties running for reelection.
    Although Republican, she has supported measures to protect gay marriage, calling it 'a settled issue.'
