The Resume

    (April 27, 1947-April 24, 1975)
Born in Swansea, South Wales, United Kingdom
Lead singer, songwriter, guitarist and keyboardist for Badfinger
With Badfinger recorded the albums 'Magic Christian Music,' 'No Dice,' 'Straight Up,' 'Ass,' 'Badfinger' and 'Wish You Were Here'
As a soloist recored the albums '7 Park Avenue' and 'Golders Green'
Committed suicide at age 27 by hanging himself at his home in Surrey, England

Why he might be annoying:

He had a problem with Badfinger's first single release 'Come and Get It' because Paul McCartney wrote it, believing his songwriting ability could speak for itself.
He suffered from bouts of depression.
He smoked and burned himself with cigarettes when depressed.
His blood alcohol content was .27 when he hung himself.
His girlfriend was eight months pregnant with their daughter when he died (named Petera in honor of him).
His solo albums were released in 1997 and 1999, over twenty years after his death.

Why he might not be annoying:

He has been called the grandfather of the power pop genre.
The Beatles were impressed with his singing and songwriting ability, signing Badfinger to their Apple label.
George Harrison utilized his talents for two of his albums, and he did a famous acoustic guitar duet with him on 'Here Comes The Sun' for 'The Concert for Bangladesh' album and film.
Harrison called him a 'fantastic guitarist and great singer,' and Ringo Starr had him sing background vocals for his hit 'It Don't Come Easy.'
Though friends and acquaintances described him as an honest, soft-spoken gentleman with a heart of gold, financial instability pushed him over the edge.
Badfinger's business manager robbed the band blind, and when bandmates came to him asking for help, he cracked under the pressure and did himself in, notating in his suicide note that the manager is a 'soulless bastard' and writing 'I will take him with me.'
