Why Perfect Stranger might be annoying:

They never had a hit on the Top 40 country charts.
Their album ‘You Have The Right To Remain Silent’ was a repackaged version of their independent release ‘It’s All Up To You.’
They were unable to replicate the same degree of success as a mainstream commercial act that they had as an independent one.
They changed drummers four times during their run.
They disbanded due to poor mismanagement on their record labels behalf.
Steve, Shayne and Richard attempted to make a comeback with a reformed version of the band in 2009 to minimal success.
Richard Raines suffered from depression a and committed suicide three years after the band disbanded for good.

Why Perfect Stranger might not be annoying:

They had a strong following in their home state of Texas.
They were considered the most sought after band by major record labels during their years as an independent act.
They did a respectable cover of Vince Gill's single 'Ridin' The Rodeo,' which was considered their first mainstream hit.
They primarily performed at rodeos and small-time clubs, prior to signing with Curb Records.
They earned an ACM nomination for  Top New Vocal Group, finishing second to Lonestar (1996).
They wound up working regular jobs following their retirement from the music industry.
