Football Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He shares his name with the politician.
He initially signed with the Houston Oilers coming out of college, but was unable to crack the roster.
He earned the nickname ‘Old Man Willie’ after he ran 75 yards on an interception return, scoring the clinching touchdown for the Raiders in Super Bowl XI.
He posted a record of 2-9 in his lone season as head coach at Long Beach State (1991).
To top it all off, he wasn’t relieved of his head coaching duties due to performance, rather due to the school permanently shutting down its football program.

Why he might not be annoying:

He made the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Grambling State University.
He established himself as a mainstay on the Raiders defense, shortly after his trade to the team.
He is amongst a select handful of players to have won both an AFL Championship and a Super Bowl ring.
He set an AFL record for most interceptions in a single game.
He returned to the Raiders front office after the franchise’s relocation back to Oakland, in a position he held up til his death.
