He pronounces his name Jah-mel instead of Ja-mall.
He was extremely small for a wide receiver.
He describes himself on Twitter as being a 'God fearing man.'
He was injury prone throughout his career.
Despite establishing himself as one of the Alouettes top receivers, he was unceremoniously released by the team in training camp (2014).

He attended Victor Valley College.
He played on special teams, in addition to wideout during his career.
He turned down lucrative offers in the NFL to stay with the Alouettes, as he felt it provided the best opportunity to keep playing full time.
He was one of Anthony Calvillo's favorite targets in Montreal.
He earned Grey Cup MVP honors in the Alouettes championship victory over his former team in back-to-back years (2010).
