Why they might be annoying:

The name 'Dazz' is a portmanteau of 'danceable jazz.'
Their original name from 1977-80 was 'Kinsman Dazz.'
Though not necessarily one-hit wonders, they could never replicate the commercial success of 'Let It Whip.'
Former members of the group have feuded over rights to use the band's name since 2012.

Why they might not be annoying:

'Let It Whip' hit number five on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and number one on the R&B singles chart (1982).
That song also won the band a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
Cleveland mayor George Voinovich proclaimed December 10, 1982, as 'Bobby Harris and The Dazz Band Day' for their contributions to the Cleveland music scene.
They also performed for military troops stationed overseas in Iraq between 2008 and 2010.
