She left her daughter to be raised in Iran as a condition of her divorce from Pahlavi.
She was falsely reported dead in 2005.

She lost her royal titles when the Egyptian monarchy was dismantled (1952).
Life Magazine photographer Cecil Beaton branded her an 'Asian Venus.'
She was renowned for her light blue eyes.
The Shah announced their divorce wouldn't affect the positive relations between Egypt and Iran.
Her second marriage to Ismail Shirin Bey lasted from 1949 until his death in 1994.
