Why he might be annoying:

He is exuberant and an in your face coach.
He has trouble controlling his excitement and nearly cost the United States gym team points by almost going into the competitors area.
His shenanigans tends to rob a lot of the glory from the competitors.
Rumors have claimed he is a pedophile.

Why he might not be annoying:

He defected to the United States.
He trains many of the young female gymnasts on the U.S. team.
He inspired Kerri Strug to vault despite her torn ligaments, to secure the Olympic gold medal for the U.S. (1996).
Although he may be the toughest trainer of gymnasts, he is widely respected as the best coach.
He coached Nadia Comaneci, Mary Lou Retton, Julianne McNamara, Phoebe Mills, Kim Zmeskal, Betty Okino, Kerri Strug and Dominique Moceanu.
