Why he might be annoying:

    His eligibility came into question as he played in Russia`s Kontinental Hockey League for nearly a decade before coming over to the Blackhawks.
    Some hockey pundits felt his numbers in his rookie NHL season came as a result of playing alongside Patrick Kane for the majority of the year.
    He was nicknamed `Bread Man` as a result of his name being closely spelled to the Panera Bread company.
    His Calder Trophy win cheesed off many Connor McDavid fans, who felt he shouldn`t have been eligible due to his career in the KHL.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was the first Blackhawk player since Patrick Kane to win the Calder Trophy.
    Despite not knowing anything about American culture and customs, he moved in with a Russian family in the Chicago area to help him get accustomed to his new surroundings.
    He caught the eye of Blackhawks scouts, after an impressive performance at the 2015 IIHF World Hockey Championships.
    He earned the Kharlamov trophy, by the Russian Hockey Federation as a result of his impressive rookie season in Chicago.
