Why The Wayans Bros. might be annoying:

The series was cancelled in 1999, due to declining ratings and was not given a proper finale.
Scott Baio directed some episodes of the show.
Shawn and Marlon originally wanted actor Danny Glover to portray the 'Pops Williams' character, but they couldn't see him telling them off and whooping them with a belt, so their second choice John Witherspoon ended up being their TV dad instead.
Dee portrayed an over 50-year-old security guard who worked at the newsstand, and still lived with her mother.
They tried to label Shawn's character as a pretty boy, who was Pops favorite.
Pops's trademark was wearing bowties in different colors on almost every episode.
While some plots in the show revolved around Pops marriage (even an episode where Shawn and Marlon believed Pops was cheating on their mother), the boys' mom never made an appearance on camera.
The boys often made fun of Michael Jackson.
Anna Maria Horsford stated that she was 40 in one Season 3 episode; in reality, she was 10 years older at the time.

Why The Wayans Bros. might not be annoying:

The show featured some very special and famous guests, including Garcelle Beauvais, Paula Abdul, Busta Rhymes, Pam Grier, Missy Elliott, Tamala Jones and Jerry Springer.
While the series didn't end on a cliffhanger, in the film 'Scary Movie (2000)', Shawn Wayans' character mentions the show one more last time: 'And 'The Wayans Bros.' was a good show, man.' (To remind people that funny and African-American TV shows never get a final or farewell episode).
John 'Pops' Williams and Grandma Ellington did not get along, and were always cracking jokes on each other.
The show turned Shawn and Marlon Wayans into megastars.
Omar Epps was one of the executive producers of the show, and also came up with each theme song composed with each season of the show.
Even though the show was cancelled in 1999, reruns aired on BET and VH1.
Glynn Turman directed several episodes.
Over a great portion of the cast were featured in Ice Cube's 'Friday' franchise, some of the cast includes John Witherspoon, Anna Maria Horsford, Paula Jai Parker, Tamala Jones and Kym Whitley.
