Why he might be annoying:

When he was drafted first overall by Baie-Comeau in the QMJHL Draft, he publicly stated he would refuse to report to the team.
His statement prompted many Baie-Comeau fans to hurl frozen fish sticks at him when he played his first game against the Drakkar.
    He is a self-proclaimed wigger.
Since he grew up in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, some hockey pundits went as far as comparing him to Sidney Crosby.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was traded to his hometown Halifax Mooseheads team, and became a cornerstone in the franchise's turnaround from doormat to contender.
He earned Memorial Cup MVP honors after he recorded 13 points in six games, also guiding the Mooseheads to the franchise's first Memorial Cup championship (2013).
He was the first player since Eric Lindros and first since the franchise relocated to Denver to be drafted first overall.
He was the first rookie in 69 years to record two or more points in his debut NHL game.
