Why he might be annoying:

He was made into a god after his death and it was claimed he was the son of Ptah (Universal creator).
His followers claim he was a magician and a physician.
After his death, many sick people prayed at his temples for a cure and in most cases, they didn't find one.
Archaeologists discovered changes in the pyramid design at higher altitudes, showing that Imhotep made it up as he went along.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was born a peasant and worked his way up to a deity.
His name was stolen by Universal Studios to be used as a character in their classic horror film, 'The Mummy' and reused in the recent remake.
He was a pioneer among architects and was credited as building the world's first large stone building.
Before he designed the pyramid, tombs were simply mounds.
He assured King Djoser a place in the afterlife (according to Egyptian belief).
Considering that it was the first of its kind, his 200 stone high stepped pyramid was a good effort.
He was a good poet, architect and priest-physician.
His work has survived.
He was honored by the Greeks during the Roman period.
