Why he might be annoying:

    He went by his middle name, rather then his birth name of Robert.
    He played on five different teams, including two separate stints with the Rangers and Yankees.
    He was one of four catchers to be on the Rangers roster at the same time during the 1989 season.
    He missed out on getting a World Series ring with the Yankees, as the team won the year after he left the team both times.
    He went from being a durable catcher to injury prone in his later seasons.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He caught Nolan Ryan‘s seventh and final career no-hitter (May 1, 1991).
    He was a versatile player, as he played his natural catching positions, along with the corner infield, outfield and designated hitter positions.
    He flourished as a starting catcher with the Yankees under the guidance of Buck Showalter.
    He earned a Silver Slugger Award at the catcher position (1993).
    He was ranked among the top power-hitting catchers during the early 1990’s.
