Why The Dana Carvey Show might be annoying:

The first show’s opening sketch featured Carvey as President Bill Clinton using multiple prosthetic nipples to suckle a baby (actually a doll), and several puppies and a kitten (all real).
Six million viewers changed channels during that sketch and the ratings never recovered. (Carvey: ‘We were in trouble from that point forwards.’)
Airing in the timeslot after the family-friendly show Home Improvement did not help matters.
A parody of the presentation of the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, with cast members performing Indian, Oriental, and Arab stereotypes, was dubbed ‘possibly the most racist sketch ever committed to tape.’
Only seven episodes were aired.
Carvey and series co-creator Robert Smigel later admitted they should have made a deal with a cable channel instead of one of the broadcast networks.

Why The Dana Carvey Show might not be annoying:

It featured Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert as regulars before they became Daily Show correspondents.
The writing staff included Louis C.K. (as the head writer), Charlie Kaufman, and Bob Odenkirk.
Smigel brought the ‘Ambiguously Gay Duo’ cartoons over to Saturday Night Live.
Hulu produced a documentary about the show titled ‘Too Funny to Fail.’ (2017)
