The Resume

    (March 24, 1937-January 17, 1970)
Born in Washington, District of Columbia
Recorded the singles 'I Do Love You' (1965), 'Sitting in the Park' (1965), 'Summertime' (1966) and 'Secret Love' (1966)

Why he might be annoying:

He was nicknamed 'Fat Boy' for his 200+ pound heft and 'Motormouth' for his stuttering and repetitions on songs like 'Summertime.'
Critic Dave Marsh called him 'the original human beat box,' then added 'human drill-press probably comes closer to capturing the sound's effect.'
He drove his car into a river, killing himself and three members of his band.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was discovered by Bo Diddley, who got him a contract with Chess Records.
His album 'Billy Stewart Teaches Old Standards New Tricks' was aptly titled.
Duke Ellington was impressed by his performance in concert and had discussed producing an album with him shortly before Stewart's death.
His self-penned ballads 'I Do Love You' and 'Sitting in the Park' returned to the R&B Top 10 when they were covered by the band GQ (1979).
