She went to work as a sales clerk after resigning from her newspaper job.
Folk singer Phranc wrote a song about her.

Why he might not be annoying:

She said that the 'Jimmy' character in the story was actually a composite of all the real life child drug addicts she had encountered in her research.
Other than falsifying her research, her writing skills were excellent.
