    Undertook an American speaking tour to encourage support for the Bolshevik government in Russia (1919)
    Married author John Reed (1916-20) and diplomat William C. Bullitt, Jr. (1924-30)
    Portrayed by Diane Keaton in the film 'Reds' (1981)

Why he might be annoying:

    She abandoned her first husband to follow Reed to Greenwich Village.
    She took advantage of the loss of her birth records in the 1906 San Francisco quake to fudge her age. (Reed never found out that she was actually two years older than him instead of the two years younger she claimed to be.)
    She lost custody of her daughter Anne to Bullitt when they divorced.
    She attempted suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills (1929).
    Emma Goldman wrote, 'I do wish sometimes I were as shallow as Louise Bryant; everything would be so simple.'
