Why New Mexico might be annoying:

    It is believed that prejudice against Mexicans, kept New Mexico from becoming a state until 1912.
    Coal mine explosions killed 263 (September 22, 1913) and 120 (February 8, 1923) at Dawson, New Mexico.
    The first atomic bomb was test detonated in Trinity Site, Alamogordo, New Mexico (July 16, 1945).
    The first nuclear test was done near Alamogordo.
    The Carlsbad Cavern is known for housing millions of bats.
    Roswell was reported as the site of a major UFO crash and Alien Autopsy, stirring people to think that extra-terresterials abduct humans and are poised to attack (1947). Many claim that the U.S. is involved in a big cover up of this UFO incident.
