Hockey Player

The Resume

    (circa September 29, 1998- )
    Born in Spokane, Washington
Drafted 22nd overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft
    Forward for the Edmonton Oilers

Why he might be annoying:

His name is spelt Kailer, rather then the conventional way, Kyler.
His small stature and style of play drew comparisons to Johnny Gaudreau (this wouldn't be so bad, if he wasn't a member of the Flames at the time).
He enjoys golfing and fishing in his spare time.
He learned how to skate after his grandfather put a trail of M&M's on the ground, in order to get him to move.
At 5'8, he held the distinction of being the shortest player drafted in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft, prior to Cole Caufield surpassing him two years later (2017).

Why he might not be annoying:

He is of both Japanese and Hawaiian descent on his father's side.
He was the third player from the Spokane area to reach the NHL in the 2010's.
He took power skating classes from fellow Spokane native Tyler Johnson's mom growing up.
He said that his small stature served as a motivation to prove his detractors wrong, about being able to play in the NHL.
He slowly established himself as a secondary scoring presence for the Oilers during the 2021-22 season.
