Forward for the Buffalo Sabres (1980-81), Hartford Whalers (1981-82) and the New York Rangers (1982-84)

He fought Jack O'Callaghan at the tryout, stemming from a college hockey rivalry.

He opted to retire, instead of continue his playing career in the minor leagues.

He scored the winning goal in the gold medal game against Finland, which served as the perfect end for the 1980 Winter Olympics.

He was voted among the top 50 players of all-time in the history of the University of Minnesota hockey program (2001).
