Stepdaughter of former FN politician, Samuel Marechal, who married her mother and raised her as his daughter
    MP for Vaucluse's 3rd constituency (elected June 30, 2012)
Selected by French National Front members as the leading FN candidate in the southeastern region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur in the 2015 regional elections, eventually losing in the December general Parliamentary elections

Why she might be annoying:

She has been prematurely compared to Joan of Arc.
She was called 'the pretty new face of French fascism.'
She is Sarah Palin's 'political crush.'
Admittedly, she's probably the political crush of WAY more people than just Palin (although most of them are male admirers).
She was nicknamed 'Marion-ette' by skeptics who claimed that her famous grandfather was 'pulling her strings.'
Her political career was carefully nestled in the vested hope for a political dynasty. (The Le Pens are to French reactionary conservatism what the Kennedys are to American liberalism.)
She took part in mass demonstrations against same-sex marriage organized in Paris (2013).
She advocated French-Muslim assimilation by saying 'in our country, we don’t wear djellaba clothing, we don’t wear a veil and we don’t impose cathedral-sized mosques.'
She publicly opposed her grandfather's expulsion from the French National Front, after he made several controversial comments related to the Holocaust being 'a detail of history' (2015).
She sued L'Express newspaper for invasion of privacy after it revealed that her natural father was the late journalist and diplomat Roger Auque. The newspaper was ordered to pay €10,000 in damages (2013).
She found her political opening in the wake of several Islamic terrorist attacks in 2015, which brought forth unprecedented levels of Islamophobia (and yet she still failed to close the deal with voters).

Why she might not be annoying:

She resolved to go into politics as a teenager, after hearing Nicolas Sarkozy speak.
Her first public appearance was at the age of two, when she appeared on a FN campaign poster being cuddled by her famous grandfather.
She became the youngest lawmaker in modern French history when she was elected to the National Assembly at age 22 (2012).
She asserted that, contrary to what people may think, her family doesn't (and never did) talk politics at the dinner table or in social settings.
She inadvertently upstaged her famed aunt, Marine Le Pen (and also helped to assuage the feud between her and Jean-Marie Le Pen).
She and her aunt have been instrumental in reworking the National Front to appeal to a more broad constituency; mainly by not make gauche little gaffes like, say, denying the Holocaust.
Let's just say she wouldn't look out of place in a Victoria's Angels lineup (Gigi who? What's her name -- Marsha Hunt?)
As such, she has been the target of many sexist attacks from political opponents, cartoonists, and bloggers - one particularly offensive cartoon showed her being spanked by a political rival.
She left France's Socialist Prime Minister Manuel Valls flustered after calling him a 'cretin' in a parliamentary speech gone viral (April 2015).
Cécile Alduy described her as a 'paradoxical character who dresses and speaks in a modern way while promoting social conservatism.'
