U.S. Governor

The Resume

    (December 9, 1954- )
    Born in Moorhead, Mississippi
Birth name is Dewey Phillip Bryant
    Governor of Mississippi (January 10, 2012 – January 14, 2020)
    Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi (January 10, 2008 – January 10, 2012)

Why he might be annoying:

He was probably named after Thomas Dewey.
He signed bills into law restricting gay marriage and access to abortion.
He resisted efforts to change the Confederate symbol on the Mississippi state flag. (It was eventually changed the year following his exit.)
He faced very limited opposition for reelection (his opponent - Robert Gray - was an unknown truck driver who doesn't even have a Wikipedia page).
He was tapped by President Trump to lead his 1619 Project rip-off - The Advisory 1776 Commission - for 'patriotic education' in 2020.
He was revealed in leaked texts to have helped Brett Favre get welfare funds to help build a volleyball center (September 2022).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is an avid outdoorsman.
Prior to entering government work, he was a deputy sheriff in Hinds County.
He worked undercover in drug law enforcement.
He resembles Carl Fredricksen from 'Up.'
He was an adjunct professor of government at Mississippi College (his alma mater).
He left office mere months before the Covid-19 pandemic (talk about dodging a bullet!).
